"I'm of the belief that sometimes the universe lines things up in just a perfect way that you can't deny that they're meant to happen.  I lost my father when I was just about to turn 14, that was about 30 years ago. My younger sister and I have a very small collection of random objects of his that we've had since he passed. As we grew older we were given an old briefcase of his. Inside were personal journals, and various papers and documents that gave us a whole new perspective of who our father was and what his life was like. While reading through one of his journals, my sister found an entry talking about a random adventure the three of us went on. One line in particular stood out, "it was a spur of the moment idea". It managed to capture the emotion of the entry and how my father was feeling at the time.  My sister and I had decided to get matching tattoos to commemorate him and this memory. She got hers almost right away, I on the other hand, procrastinated. I had been to Lindsay's shop before and have been following her work, which is how I came across the post about the HeartShare project. I wasn’t even initially messaging her to ask for a tattoo, I was just reaching out to express what a lovely idea I thought it was…and then I remembered my own memorial tattoo that I had been putting off. We managed to connect and get my tattoo done. The love and attention Lindsay put not just into the work, but making a connection with the work is the part that will stick with me. It’s a work of love. It’s beautiful.
