Work in Progress: Tessa

This elegant, hand poked tattoo of branches and leaves is for Tessa and was designed freehand on her arm. It’s still a work in progress; shading will be added to the leaves, and eventually, we’ll continue working up to her upper arm and other parts of her body. I’m really excited about this project. Lieneke got her very first tattoo from me, and recently came back for a second one. Both hand poked tattoos are based on her own designs, which I adapted to make them suitable for tattoos. They are full of personal symbolism. This is one of the things I love most about creating unique pieces that are completely personal and meaningful to the wearer. Thank you for your trust, Lieneke!

Years ago, I started this backpiece for Lennart. There was only a small part left to finish, and recently we finally completed it. Back then, I was still working with the machine, so the linework was done with the machine. The rest is hand poked.

Work in progress: Matthijs

During Castlefest, I continued working on Matthijs' tattoo. The addition to his hand poked piece is almost finished, with just some shading and filling towards the shoulder left. Next up: a bindrune on the sternum and Jörmungandr for the left chest. I’m looking forward to it!

A hand poked goddess for Esther. Last year, I was warmly welcomed by the Heathen Gang at Castlefest, where I was able to be part of their camp with my stall during the festival. As a thank you, I held a raffle, and Esther was the lucky winner. She asked me to design a beautiful goddess, and this is the result.

For Wendy, I had the pleasure of doing a second tattoo. This time, it’s a custom-designed arrow with a bindrune. The placement on the foot is perfect: with an arrow on your foot, you always know where you're headed!
