We all get tattooed for different reasons - sometimes it’s a spur of the moment thing you’ve just gotta do, and sometimes it’s something you’ve been thinking about FOREVER. My client today has a lifelong love for Alice in Wonderland and we created this as a combination of imagery from the original book illustrations and the animated Disney movie. Work in progress! No edits, no filters, I don't do that kind of thing - just a very honest look at a #sleevetattoo in progress with pics taken from my ancient iPhone with zero fancy lighting. ;) My client here is amazing. Want to get a sleeve and do it right? Do it the way my client did. Have cool ideas. Listen to my input. Lay out the whole thing instead a trying to build around something tiny, piece by piece. Come for sessions on a regular schedule (once a month for him). Sit like a rock. Come to sessions well fed, well rested, sober, and hydrated. Be a rad person. Pet memorials - y'all, I'm such an animal lover, and when I get these tribute tattoos to beloved animal friends who have passed it brings a tear to my eye every time! Pets really do teach us what unconditional love looks like. These were both from yesterday - one for a kitty, one for a sweet doggo. Single needle for the pawprint! I know I posted a variant of this #tatttooflash sheet before, but you know - I'm getting a bit tired of iPads and digital. How about some real old school flash painting? This is an example. In a world of digital, it's a good exercise as a #tattooartist to keep your hand drawing (and painting) skills honed! I really do think that in future years we're going to start seeing a bit of a backlash against digital and AI imagery. There's a place for everything - I truly believe this, and personally love the ease of digital media. But there's something innately human about just pulling out my Speedball ink and watercolors that I've missed. How about you? Do you like the color version of this?
