The final piece that got me Best Backpiece in New York @nyempirestatetattooexpo this past week! Although I’m so happy and proud, I still can’t believe it. We started this tattoo in January this year with the goal of hopefully finishing by the convention in May to enter in the competition while I was still tattooing other clients full time, running my apprenticeship program, and @parallaxartstudio. We finished at about 15 total sessions with anywhere from 3-9 hours each session. Props to @phonggggg for sitting like a rock so frequently.

This was an incredible weekend because it was the first time I brought most of my team @parallaxartstudio to our first convention as a shop together and the first time I entered a tattoo in a competition, and won first place 😭. We met so many crazy talented artists and I am truly humbled by the experience. It makes me want to work even harder to improve my craft of tattooing and growing my business.

Whether or not I got an award was not as important to me as going through the journey that got me there. Even though I am happy about getting first place, I’m more grateful knowing that I put in the hours doing my best and had so much love and support from my family friends and team members.

I started this sleeve in 2017 but life happened and we only just finished this past week in 2021. Although I started this so long ago it’s still one of my favorite pieces from when I first started tattooing ! The colors came together so beautifully. Thank you @sry_hng for being amazing all these years! See you when we start on your leg 👀👀👀.

Super fun Yokai spirit backpiece with cyberpunk elements. Thank you @kawaii_andrew for giving me full creative freedom!

Japanese yokai are supernatural beings and spirits from Japanese folklore. Ghosts, demons, monsters, shapeshifters, tricksters.

Jorogumo: spider lady yokai
Kameosa: elder jug yokai
Taka Onno: tall woman yokai

Both arms also done by me couple years back :)

My client asked for a bio mechanical shoulder piece but he favored circuitry, electronic wiring, computer chip type elements. This was a little challenging for me because I wasn’t familiar with how circuits all connect together.

After doing some research this is what I came up with! (Tons of straight lines and circles 😨😵 every tattoo artists nightmare). Finished back in August 2023

Starting 2025 with a super fun mandala on @253life head! I got the stencil on the first try which is always a huge win 😬. 8 hours tattooing time. Head tattoos can be tricky, but I love tackling these challenges. Comment below if any questions on tattooing the head!

Nike goddess of victory. I don’t normally do realism but this is one of my favorite goddesses! Saw the real one in Paris and asked if anyone would want this, and of course @catxcho was the first to claim 😬🤍
