“Now you’re looking at a man that’s getting kinda mad
I’ve had lots of luck but it’s all been bad
No matter how I struggle and strive
I’ll never get out of this world alive.“
 - Hank Williams

Another tattoo from the collection of Clayton.

In memory of David Lynch, who passed away earlier this week. A Twin Peaks inspired piece featuring the Log Lady, done on Brooke back in 2018. David was an artist of the finest sort, genuinely original and innovative. I remember watching Twin Peaks with my older siblings when it aired. I was too young to grasp its significance, but I found it so intriguing and weird and scary and I knew I was seeing something that was way out of the norm for television, and I LIKED that. Later in my teens, renting his movies had a similar effect. In modern day, any time I see an excerpt of an interview with him, it’s always a significant point or inspirational advice, something that resonates with me. I think of those points often with my own art. His taste in music was stellar, and yes, that hair. The world has lost a major player, may he be remembered for generations to come.

I’m saddened to hear the news that Jeremy Harmon passed away this week. I put these tattoos on him ten years ago when he was a member of the Lost Dog kitchen crew. We shared a lot of good conversations and laughs while sitting at that bar. He was a big music fan and we’d dive deep on some of our favorites (I’m still not a Zappa fan, though - sorry Jeremy😆). Once Lost Dog closed, our interactions became less frequent, but when we would run into each other it was always with smiles and a hug, or he’d yell a warm greeting to me from a passing vehicle. I will remember him as a hard worker, dedicated friend, and a supporter of my art. My sympathy and support go out to his family and friends. He lived aloha and will be missed.🤙

Life, death, life from death, remembrance, and the continuum. Somewhat recent work completed on Tony, who deleted his Instagram account a long time ago (which is an enviable move, but that’s another story).

Elias likes blackwork and said “do your thing with a turtle”. So I did, and this is what came of it. Thanks, Elias, this was fun to do!
