Lion and healed Owl. Owl design by #samueljessurundemesquita De Mesquita was a Amsterdam based painter and printmaker. He and his family were deported to Auschwitz and tragically died there. It was his friend and pupil MC Escher who gathered and saved much of Mesquita’s work from Mesquita’s deserted and already looted home.
